I cannot believe we are ending Day 7 of the 30 Day Challenge.  I say “we” because, there are about 12 additional clients and friends joining in on this journey.  Thank you to all of you, doing this with support really makes a difference.  It is certainly a bit easier knowing I am not going down this road alone.  The weekend was by far the most challenging, but I can say, with confidence, that by today I felt very good about getting through it. And I did not give in to any of the temptations.

Over the past couple of days, several of us have experienced an increase in aches and pains throughout our bodies. As the body rids itself from toxins,  ailments that are common to each person seem to temporarily worsen. As balance is restored the body will begin to heal.  We are in the period of cleansing the toxins, so it’s not so beautiful right now.  But we will get there!

Sugar is a toxin, and when too much is dumped into the body, the body must find a place for it. It will first use the sugar for energy.  It will then store as much as it can until our reserves are full. Then it will turn the excess into fat, to be used for later.  Some of the excess will be dumped into the bloodstream in the form of triglycerides (bad stuff).  The stored is most often stored in the belly. This is the worst place in the body to have excess fat.  Visceral fat, as it’s called, puts undo strain and pressure on the internal organs leading to many diseases. Simply reducing sugar can reduce belly fat leading to improved health.

What is the recommended daily allowance of sugar per day you ask?  Well, zero grams would be the best.  However, the World Health Organization (WHO)  and the FDA suggests 6-9 tsp per day or 24-36 grams. Take a look at your daily intake, are you close to the RDA of 6-9 teaspoons per day?

I promised I would leave you with some great food suggestions. Here are a few submitted over the last couple of days.

Bon Appetite!
