Well success continues on our Whole 30 Journey!  We have completed 13 of 30 days of clean eating. No sugar. No alcohol. And that is not all people!!  We are serious here.  Clean eating – as in, taking out ALL inflammatory foods.  The goal is to heal our bodies and become aware of what foods cause us problems in the form of inflammation.

Inflammation in the body can be anything that causes us discomfort, pain, disease or any other illness, such as: allergies, asthma, the common cold, arthritis, high blood pressure, heart disease, cancer, metabolic syndrome, thyroid issues, hormonal issues, sleep disturbances, eczema, Plantar Fasciitis, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, autoimmune disease & Alzheimer’s to name a few.   Inflammation is something that we do not want.  So, our goal over these 30 days is to decrease and/or eliminate the inflammation in our bodies by discontinuing all inflammatory foods.  What does that look like you ask?

No Sugar
No Artificial Sweeteners including Stevia
No Alcohol
No Gluten
No Grains
No Dairy
No Soy
No Beans/Legumes
No Peanuts
No Corn

For 30 Days!!!

And as one of my dear family friends said, ” And NO fun!”  Well that is not what we are experiencing thank goodness.

What’s left to eat?  Meats, Seafood, Veggies, Fruits and natural fats and nuts except peanuts.  We don’t count calories!!!  We eat three meals, no snacks, and when we eat, we eat generous portions and listen to our bodies tell us we are full.  That’s it!

The positive reports from my clients keep coming in.  Everyone is thriving!  There are so many reports of good changes due to this Whole30 eating plan.

One person reported that she has had to take indigestion medication daily prior to starting this program.  Since she began 13 days ago, she’s not had to take her medication once!

Weight loss is not the goal but many people have lost weight on our journey.  We are happy to leave extra fat pounds way behind us.  I’ve asked everyone not to get on the scale until Day 30.  But one person said, “”I snuck on the scale, even though you said not to, and I’m down 6 pounds.”

Other wonderful reports are:
“My skinny jeans are too big now!”
“I’ve slept soundly every night, I’ve not done this in over 5 years.”
“My skin is brighter and more hydrated.”
“My allergies have decreased significantly.”
“I am more focused and have more energy throughout the day.”

We have 17 more days to go.  This truly has been an adventure and I am sure the next 17 days will bring more challenges and surprises.  But for now, we continue to challenge our eating habits, creating new ways of dealing with our relationships with food and enjoying the wonderful foods we are making.  Here are a few great meal ideas for you.
